Anti-Ragging Committee


Anti-ragging is a movement to prevent the occurrence of ragging activities i.e. vocal or
physical abuse and violence on student’s dignity in the college/university premises. It aims
to make the students feel safe and supported in the University campus. These include
Security cameras in campus and anti-ragging helpline numbers.
To maintain the quality of academics and continuous growth, AKS University puts
tremendous efforts to stop ragging activities on the campus.
To prevent such ragging activities, an anti-ragging committee has been constituted with the
following members.

Disciplinary Committee

To Ensure Peaceful environment in the university campus.
To avoid misbehaviour or physical violence among students.
To frame a procedure to reduce violence or disciplinary activities.
Conduct meetings or ask for reports for in disciplinary activities among students.


The UDC (University Disciplinary Committee) may seek the assistance of wardens, hostel
superintendent, Security Staff and other staff members to investigate the cases of
indiscipline. It is up to the standing committee to investigate all cases of student’s indiscipline.
As per the ordinance of AKS University Provision No. 8 clause no. 4, the University
Disciplinary Committee is constituted as under

Anti- Squad Committee

Every Educational Institution should constitute a committee known as, Anti- Squad Committee. This
is nominated and headed by representatives of any organizations. The main functions of anti-squad
the committee is to stop incidents of ragging at various places of University campus like classrooms,
library, canteen, hostels, buses, the campus at university etc. The anti-ragging squad will be working under
the guidance of Anti Ragging Committee
Anti-ragging Squad will make every student aware of ragging and its punishments. Also, it
informs the students about anti-ragging helpline numbers.

Internal Complaint Committee

In pursuance of Hon’ble Supreme Courts directions, and clause no. 4 of the notification of
MHRD dated 2 May 2016, a Grievance Redressal Mechanism/Internal Complaint Committee
(ICC) has been framed for Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of
women employees and students at AKS University, Satna, M.P.

NSS Cell

Introduction

Government of India and State Govt. with joint venture seeks a young person’s to help channelize their energies and capabilities towards nation building activities by organizing them into volunteers groups. National Service Scheme (NSS) has a vital role to play in this regard and personality development of the Students and upliftment of society. It provides an opportunity to devote their time to the service of the nation and a sense of participation in national reconstruction and inculcation of social responsibility be created in the youth by providing a creative outlet for their energies through National Service Scheme.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) was evolved and introduced by the Government of India in the year 1969. It aims at developing amongst students a sense of participation in nation building through Social Work. This deepens understanding of the social environment and enriches his/her personality through actual participation in the day-to-day life of the society. This process of learning is not only a desirable supplement to the classroom education but develops in the student a sense of responsibility, tolerance and cooperation. NSS plays a vital role in the development of the latent aspects of the student's personality. Since the establishment of the University in 2012, the NSS unit has been functioning with full vigour and enthusiasm.

Aim

The aim of the NSS is Education through community service.

Motto

The motto is Not Me but You.

Overall Objectives

The overall objective is education. Service to the community is the activity through which this objective is attained

Specific objective
  1. To arouse social consciousness of the students by providing them opportunities to work with and among the people

  2. To develop an awareness and knowledge of social realities to have concern for the well being of the community and engage in creative and constructive social action

  3. To provide with rich and meaningful educational experiences to them in order to make their education complete and meaningful

  4. To develop skill needed in the exercise of democratic leadership and programme development to help them get self-employed

  5. To give them the opportunities for their personality development.

Unit Level Organization

There are three units of NSS in AKS University, apart from them one is for Girls and Two for Boys under the charge of three programme officers. Student members are admitted into any one unit so that each and every student gets a chance to work under the NSS.

The NSS of this University involves the active participation of the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, college advisory committee, the teachers, students, governmental /non-governmental departments or agencies, local institutes and other beneficiaries.

The obligation of an NSS volunteer

Every NSS volunteer is expected to engage himself in NSS activities for 240 hours inclusive of a special camp for 10 days duration during a period of 2 academic years. All NSS volunteers will be provided with a work diary to record their details of work done. All outgoing volunteers are issued an NSS certificate by the state cell. The NSS units of this university present an award to the best outgoing student volunteer every year.

  2. It provides the volunteers with an opportunity to train themselves as the future leaders and decision makers of the country

  3. It provides training to equip the volunteers with the minimum necessary skills to carry out programmes

  4. It provides with opportunities to take part in inter-collegiate / inter-university / inter-state camps and exchange ideas with students from other colleges/universities/ states

Activities

The NSS indulges in a wide range of activities, which includes regular activities and the special camping programme

Regular activities
  1. Blood detection camps, blood donation etc.

  2. Campus cleaning.

  3. Celebration of important days

  4. Orientation camps

  5. Participation of students in various seminars conducted all over the state

  6. Various cultural activities aiming at personality development of students

  7. Raising of funds for various altruistic activities.

    1. Environment: Plantation activities, cleanliness drives, plastic elimination campaign as well as seminars and workshops by eminent environmentalists are conducted

    2. Literacy: - "An adult literacy programme called "Chirag Tale Andhera Hatao" is being conducted for the karamcharis on the Campus. Two hours are devoted every day for the purpose. A separate classroom with necessary infrastructure is also there

    3. Health & Hygiene:- Workshops and seminars by Doctors and Professors are conducted on issue related to AIDS, and stress to create awareness.

    4. One-Day Camps:- Camps are conducted at historical sites where plays are staged for the public to make them aware to protect their monuments. Cleanliness drives are also part of the camp to protect the historical sites and campus.

    5. One-Week Camps: Camps are also conducted in various parts of the country for volunteers who have been active throughout the year

Special camping programme

Special camps of 10 days duration form an integral part of the NSS activities. The camps are conducted every year in villages or slums. By its altruistic activities, the NSS unit volunteers have reached out to the backward masses. The volunteers work in these regions for hygiene education, anticlastic campaign and to eradicate illiteracy. The camps are also aimed at the development of durable community assets like roads, canals, sanitation and other similar projects.

Soft Skills

Soft Skills Development Cell at AKS is an autonomous cell that came into function realizing the need for soft skills training for the budding professionals undergoing their Graduate & Post Graduate programs in the University. 

 

The University provides extensive support in spoken / written English for students whose first language is not English. This is done through workshops and sessions where you have an opportunity to talk to a tutor privately about particular language issues.

This cell works under the constant guidance and mentoring of Industry experts, where students are groomed & developed with those skill sets that lead to the students’ transformation into ‘READY TO BE DEPLOYED PROFESSIONALS’- competent enough to handle the complexities of the corporate world in an excellent way. The training provided by this cell benefits the students, both in their early professional careers and in their social interactions in the Professional & Personal Environment.


Skills Development Cell works in strong coherence with Training & Placement Cell to identify the latest training and development needs of the students to make them skilled before ‘IN & OFF’ Campus Placements Drives. Entrepreneurship & Skill Development(CESD)

The education system should highlight the importance of entrepreneurship and prepare the students right from school and college education to get oriented towards setting up of enterprises which will provide them creativity, freedom and ability to generate wealth.

Being private university we are committed to bridge the gap between Applied Skill & Education by introducing Entrepreneurial Training in every course we are running for which adequate infrastructure is available with us. The CESD is operating with the objective to fill the gaps in the form of trained faculty and focused programmes to inculcate entrepreneurial spirit among our students in particular & society at large.

FUNCTIONS OF CESD

  • To organize Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EACs), Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs), Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), Management / Executive Development Programs (MDPs) and Skill Development Programmes in the university campus as well as outside the campus for the wider transfer of technology & skill enabled entrepreneurial activities. With the partnership of Dept. of Science & Technology (DST) Ministry of MSME,  – Govt. of India, M.P. & different Research & Development Organizations.

  • To initiate five innovative student projects each year for new innovative product or business model development.

  • To organize Business Plan Competitions every year & guide and assist prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as:    

01Preparing project reports

02Obtaining project approvals

03Loans and facilities from agencies of support system

04Information on technologies, etc.

  • To arrange interaction with entrepreneurs and create a mentor-ship scheme for student entrepreneurs.

  • To facilitate creation of entrepreneur’s club in Vindhaya region to foster culture of opting entrepreneurship as a career option.

At the MP Startup Conclave, Indore on 13th May, under the aegis of Smart City Satna Incubation Center, The team of MSME Business incubator,  AKS UNIVERSITY had shown their enthusiastic presence among 100+ Startup expo and 50+ distinguished speakers. The presence of honorable Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan had made another significant recognition at Brilliant Convention Center, Indore. The Madhya Pradesh Startup Conclave had witnessed the participation of various pillars of the startup ecosystem including policymakers from the government and private sector, innovators, entrepreneurs, academicians, investors, mentors, and other stakeholders. It had witnessed a variety of sessions including speed mentoring session, where startups had dialogue with leaders of educational institutions and startup space; how to start startup session, where startups has been guided by policymakers; funding session, where entrepreneurs had learning about various funding methods; pitching session, where startups had got opportunity to collaborate with investors and put forth their ideas for funding; and ecosystem support session, where participants had to learn about brand value and about promoting startup ecosystem in the state. AKS University team was led by Sh. Avnish Soni, Director, AKS UNIVERSITY, 2 Canopy presented by the faculty team (Dr. Akhilesh A. Waoo, Mr. Vivek K. Agnihotri, Er. Arpit Srivastava) and one of the students Mr. Amit Kushwaha (MCA) was present. The showcase highlighted were 1. IoT Enabled Smart Agriculture 2. Development of a range of Bioproducts for Agriculture.
AKS University, MSME Business Incubator, and Smart City Satna Incubation Center had proved that mega solutions for societies are coming from 3 tier cities and this was going to create historical examples in the upcoming future. Precisely, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had launched the Madhya Pradesh Startup Policy and addressed the startup community during the Madhya Pradesh Startup Conclave.                                                                                       

MOU

  • MOU Signing Ceremony (01-April-2022) :

AKS University hosted an MOU signing ceremony as well as a Hackathon Bootcamp. During the event, Hon'ble Pro Chancellor Er. Anant Soni, Vice Chancellor Dr. R.S. Tripathi, and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Harshavardhan Shrivastava signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Satna Smart City Incubation Centre and AKS University. This accomplishment is dedicated to AKSU students for their entire development and recognition as entrepreneurs. The Smart City Satna Incubation Center has provided AKS University with a significant approach and insights to create entrepreneurs, and this MOU has resulted in the establishment of a common platform where students can be inspired, innovate, and engage themselves on profitable ideas, and will lead through the support of mentors and domain expertise.

Satna Incubation Center also presented their attributes for HACKATHON1.0, which will be organized by them in the near future with respect to the presentation of numerous concepts and their executions. On the 1st of April, the MOU signing event was held, and Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Nagar Nigam Satna, Shri Bhupendradev Parmar, was there and engaged with students. He gave mature perspectives on entrepreneurship and the New Education Policy 2020. He enthused pupils by emphasizing the importance of being an entrepreneur and how their innovative ideas may benefit society.

With all of this in mind, Smart Satna Hackathon 1.0 was explained in order to raise awareness and inspire students to participate in the Smart Satna Hackathon 1.0, which was organized by the Smart City Satna Incubation Center at AKS University.   • MSME IDEA HACKATHON 1.0 1st Stage of Evaluation of Innovative Idea by HI (AKS University) (06-april-2022) :

“Advising and assisting entrepreneurs as they embark on their entrepreneurial path”

In the program of MSME Idea Hackathon 2022 organized by the Ministry of MSME, Govt of India, from Host Institute, AKS University MSME Business Incubator, 23 innovative business ideas were presented and screened in the first stage of evaluation by the committee members on 6th of April 2022. Committee members of 6 experts, Ms. AnugyaHandoo, SSO, MSME Development Institute, Indore (MP), Sh. Pankaj Yadav, Assistant Manager, SME, State Bank of India, Sh. Nikhil Khandelwal, Member, Vindhya Chamber of Commerce, MM Sharda Rare Earth Pvt. Ltd. Satna (MP), Dr. Harshvardhan, Pro Vice-Chancellor, AKS University, Dr. S. S. Tomar, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture Science & Technology, AKS University, Satna, Prof. R. N.   4. Ganv ki Beti Scheme
    1. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to encourage talented girls of rural areas to acquire higher education. Scholarships are given every year for the girls who have received 60% or more marks in the 12th examination.
    2. Documents required for the above scholarship:12th Mark sheet photocopy, Certificate from Sarpanch for domicile of village, photocopy of Bank Passbook, Passport size photo
  5. Pratibha Kiran Scheme
    1. The objective of this scheme is improved educational standard of girls belonging to urban BPL families, who pass their 12th exam in the first division. But she has to take admission in higher classes the same year.
    2. Documents required for the above scholarship:12th Mark sheet photocopy, BPL Certificate, photocopy of Bank Passbook, Passport size photo, Domicile Certificate
  6. DIVYANG Scholarship
    1. Scholarship for Students with Disabilities. Students who are disabled more than 41% and their Guardian Parents income is more than 96,000 per Annum.

Placement Cell

Training and Employment Cell 

Training and Employment Cell keep a liaison with the potential industries and provide necessary guidance to the students. The Cell facilitates arranging on-campus placements of students in various industries, makes arrangements for students to participate in off-campus drives organized at various institutions/industries and industrial training, an essential component of engineering courses is a part of the curriculum. The cell provides assistance in arranging training of students in concerned industries, which helps them in getting placements towards the completion of their courses. In this regard, the T&E cell has contacted many industries for on job training of students and has succeeded in arranging on job summer training for the students. The Training & Employment Cell also arrange lectures to improve the soft skills of the students. The objective of the event is to check the students across various disciplines such as general awareness, reasoning, communication skills and behavioural traits.

THE FACILITATING INTERFACE

One of the unique features of the University is its commitment not only to produce quality manpower but also to guide and shape the career of the students. In order to meet this objective, the University has a Training & Placement Cell which acts as the interface between the recruiting organizations and the University students. It facilitates recruitment events on-campus as well as off-campus as required. It also organizes various pre-placement training programmes to enhance the employability of the targeted students. Currently, the Cell is headed by the DIRECTOR – training and employment.
